Laundry soap

Well, today is time to make more laundry soap!  I have saved bundles on this recipe.  In 6 months I have made this 3 times and spent $6!  When I usually would spend around $12 a month on laundry detergent, so that means I have saved $66 dollars by making my own soap, and it takes 20 minutes, if that.  It is also free and clear of dyes and perfumes that I need for my child that has excema.  Here is the recipe one of my friends gave me!

1/3 of a bar of fels naptha soap (just found out Ace Hardware has it!)
1/2 cup borax (walmart)
1/2 cup washing soda (walmart) I use baking soda instead

Put 4 cups water in a pan and add fels naptha soap and heat until it melts. Add the borax and washing soda and stir until it dissolves.
Put 4 cups hot water into bucket and add the soap mixture and stir. Add 1 gallon water and 6 cups water and stir. Let sit 24 hours for it to gel up. Use 1/2 cup per load.

It isn't a high sudsing soap for all ingredients I spent around $6 and plenty left over for more batches. good luck!!  Sometimes it does get chunky just shake it up and it should be good, and it does clean your clothes!  My husband works construction and gets his clothes almost spotless, but other soaps wouldn't get it spotless either!!  :)
